Last weekend was the annual winterfeast of our umbrella society. This time it was held in the prehistoric camp HAPS (Thanks Sabine!). Located in the outskirts of the foresty Veluwe region, this was a nice setting for some snap-shots of Deventer Burgerscap members.
Nijso gaf een leerzame presentatie over middeleeuws leer en middeleeuws schoeisel.Nijso gave a educational presentation on medieval leather and medieval shoes.
Naar welke Lea aandachtig luisterde. To which Lea listened intently.
It was an opportune moment to use our new stonewear for the first time.
Also good food was prepared. Thanks Lea!
Machteld did some lovely knitting.
Sabine was ijverig aan het naaldbinden.Sabine was diligently nalbinding.
Marisca was bezig een oogje op haar kinderen te houden terwijl ze plezier had.Marisca was busy keeping an eye on her kids while having a good time.
Isis had finished her chequered stockings and so was able to wear two pair of them to withstand the freezing temperatures.
Others gladly made use of the fire to warm up their feet.
Ik teste mijn nieuwe geknoopte kogel uit. Samen met de grote mantel ook een goede remedie tegen de kou. I tested my new buttoned hood. Together with the mantle this also helped against the cold.
Isis was ook blij met haar twee rocken en lieve kogel.Isis was also happy to have her two cottes and lovely hood.
Nice! It feels good for an old reenactor to see people take joy and pride in what they do!

ReplyDeleteThanks!
I was just going to ask if your weblog has gone defunct, but I see you have made a post. :)
Looking forward to Wisby!
Not my best picture ever, and the neckline looks a bit weird wearing my early medieval woolen dress underneath, I need a new dress!!
ReplyDeleteBut it was a good party!
Yeah, now you know why the blog has been a bit silent... :)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've had a good time, though a get together in winter is mostly a rather cold event :-)
